feature: “afrotransfeminista” activist-writer-academic maria clara araújo speaks on prioritizing trans folx in academia by refusing to educate the cis-gendered

December 29, 2015

While academic trans woman pleading trans people to be masters of their own narratives, I prefer to focus on entry, stay and production of trans people within the university, to assist the academic life of non-trans people. It’s about priorities. But what I can do is indicate readings for those interested: the site transfeminism has a special part to articles and the like and recommend (long). I hope you find it useful.”

Even though Brazil’s Maria Clara Araújo’s activism isn’t for cis-gender people, she’s still doing more than she is responsible for by compiling an encyclopedia, of sorts, of her favorite book, articles, and social media posts unpacking trans issues and queer theory.
