new music: askmeificare bring the party on ‘punkuation’ #soundcheck
“What you see is what you get / and I don’t have no regrets” is basically the motto of Askmeificare (other than their name, obviously). Fuzzed out bass and hardcore drums form the backbone beneath frontman Raw’s furious flow. Part hip-hop, part punk rock, part metal, and lots of oldschool hardcore, the trio triumphantly declares their lack of give-a-fuck on their latest EP ‘Punkuation’.

The EP is a declaration to live by your own rules and fuck anyone who says otherwise. From cuts like opener “Party On!” to the ode to their drummer “Badass: Epic Saga of Jlee,” Raw’s lyrics are upwardly focused middle fingers. Hell, the album art is just that. The EP closes with the powerful “Wilted Flowers.” A eulogy for a friend, it’s the one song that cuts deeper than a posture of defiance. It turns out Askmeificare are at their best when they do care. (I’d suggest a name change, but Chuck Mosley already claimed “We Care a Lot.”) The EP is out now on iTunes and streaming on Spotify (CLICK ON THE IMAGE BELOW TO STREAM).
