June 8, 2015

Check out these captivating illustrations from of Jamaican artist Taj Francis. The artist began drawing as a child and after being mentored by his uncle, a graphic designer, decided to study art. Focused on black culture, Francis tells us that his latest work “looks at the multiple facets and rich vibrancy” of the culture “through stylistic free flow patterns and color”. And in regards to the creative process, Taj states that creativity is about taking risks: “taking ideas and having fun with it. You know, doing something out of the norm. The thing about creativity, it might fail you. It’s more something prone to failing than something that is safe.” Explore his work below.
