st louis rams players do “hands up don’t shoot”

December 1, 2014

This past sunday, a group of black football players from the St. Louis Rams showed solidarity with Mike Brown and efforts in Ferguson by staging a “hands up don’t shoot” demonstration before a game. However like Tommie Smith and John Carlos at the 1968 Olympics, the football players – Kenny Britt, Tavon Austin, Stedman Bailey, Chris Givens, and Jared Cook – are now facing condemnation for such a courageous act. The St. Louis Police Officers Association has already released a statement demanding that the players be disciplined. This acts as yet another sign that we are moving towards another civil rights movement. MORE INFO
