Singer, songwriter, and self-taught guitarist Ego Ella May released her second EP “Breathing Underwater” in February. This London native’s music took me on captivating twenty-two minute journey filled with good vibes and ethereal sounds. With her self-proclaimed genre of “future soul” she has gained quite a large following. “Breathing Underwater” gave me goose bumps from start to finish. Complete with sensual, relatable lyrics (including a poetic feature on her song “Come On” by Kojey Radical, who also created the artwork), accompanied by electro-r&b inspired beats (produced by IAMNOBODI and itsMiniD). Ego Ella May is undoubtedly creating her own lane in the music scene.

Closely connected to her supporters and fans via social media outlets it’s clear that Ego Ella May has a large supportive following that is expanding daily. I only hope one day she will come perform in New York City, however until then I will continue to enjoy her debut EP “The Tree” and her recent release “Breathing Underwater”.
