fly fall finds from fashion contributor, aliyah blackmore
It’s Fashion Week in NYC which means it’s time to start thinking about switching up your wardrobe for the upcoming chilly months. Fall fashion is a time to layer on the pieces, but that doesn’t mean you have to be drab. Quite the opposite! Putting on more clothes is just more opportunity to do more with your threads. Check out some autumn essentials from fashion contributor, Aliyah Blackmore.
Some internet and in store items that I spotted over the past week. Planning to add some of these items or similar item to my closet! The high waisted trouser, from American Apparel and Masai Necklace ( purchased my own at the African Street Festival) are two of my fav items — the trousers can be dressed up with a heeled boot and blazer or can be worn with a pair of Chuck Taylor’s. The Masai necklace is just necessary — makes any outfit pop!
Check out the items in the image below!
Bomer jackets. No make that textured (tweed, wool, corduroy, etc) bomber jackets. With killer hardware (zippers, buttons, snaps, etc)
Loungy denim. You can get any cut of pants you want in denim these days, so mix it up!
Wide brim woolen hats. Because if you’re gonna wear a hat, people should know it. Make your hats count! Like this guy–>
Botties in leather and suede. And leather or suede with animal print doesn’t hurt either
Cool Layering tees. More clothes mean more expression!
Patterned blazers.
Earth tones to help bring your looks together.
High waisted pants. A finished and polished look, and still very up-to-date.
Moody makeup. No better time of year to express how mysterious you are than with a dark plum lip!
