festival feature: white mandingos

The White Mandingos are a bit of a weirdo supergroup that seem like they should have been a band all along. Long lost bandmates that finally found one another. Darryl Jenifer, bassist of Band Brains,  West Coast crazy boy Murs, and editor of Ego trip magazine Sacha Jenkins are The White Mandingos.

They hit the internet by storm with Mandingo Rally which shows Murs donning a KKK hood and screaming. Now the album “The Ghetto is Tryna Kill Me” has received critical acclaim and a niche fan base that are equally as mixed up as this mish-mosh rocking ass band! It will be a sight to behold to watch them come together at AFROPUNKFEST ’13!
