gun-related deaths at decades high

December 14, 2018

Welp, the rate of gun violence is up and the powers aren’t going to do shit about it. Per CNN, nearly 40,000 Americans were killed by guns in 2017, the highest rate of gun-related fatalities in decades, according to the CDC.

As reported by CNN, “39,773 people died by guns in 2017, which is an increase of more than 10,000 deaths from the 28,874 in 1999…Firearm deaths in the data include gun deaths by homicide and suicide, unintentional deaths, deaths in war or legal interventions, and deaths that are undetermined.”

In response to this devastating statistics, the NRA continues to insist that gun control isn’t the answer to gun violence. Instead, we should….”stop demonizing the men and women of the @NRA and find solutions that will save lives” in a way that doesn’t include getting a better grip on weapons.

Maybe Chris Rock was right when he suggested making bullets $5,000 a piece. Just a thought.
