Yall, the Black Renaissance is here in more ways than one and I for one am excited for the next hundred years of Black women being immortalized in art. Painter Gank Pansuay is doing just that with his oil-on-canvas pieces depicting Black women in all their glory. The pieces celebrate the natural beauty of Black women and their hair, playing with color and form in a way turns each muse into their own weather system.

Pansuay’s technique also does Black hair justice as the fro is present and accounted for in its many forms, framing the faces of these Black goddesses like loving clouds, turning them all into Mother Nature’s fly daughters. We stan!
