As social turmoil in France grows and the divide between white nationalism and the country’s multi-cultural identity, the Mariannes Noires documentary follows seven French-born women of African descent as they confront their diasporic identities and subvert the expectations of French society.

Created by Dr. Mame-Fatou Niang and Kaytie Nielsen, all proceeds from streaming purchases of Mariannes Nories will go towards the production of Niang’s next film about mental health. Check out the full movie with english subtitles below, or on Vimeo.
