Born and raised in Pretoria, South Africa, Lethabo Machele is a 23-year-old photographer capturing the inner and outer beauty of beautiful black models. Their love of photography began back in high school when they were allowed to use the family camera to capture images. Now a graduate from the Tshwane University of Technology, the passionate photographer captures beautiful images that celebrate the beauty of nature and blackness as well.

“As a visual artist, I believe every frame should be composed as a painting”, Machele tells AFROPUNK. “[My pictures] are a representation of my thoughts, which I try to interpret in its rawest and most vulnerable state especially in my personal projects. I want people to look at my work and feel something. I make use of a lot of colour, contrast and symmetry in my subject matter to give emphasis to the whole composition.”
