“Black Is” sumptuous. Elegant. Beautiful. Awe-inspiring. All those things and more in this multimedia ode to melanin and dark-skinned women and girls. The brainchild of creative Oladimeji Odunsi, models Akello Akwaicham and Akinyemi Akinro and stylist Anita BlvckJean actualize this breathtaking image of black womanhood and glamour in an endearing, approachable, but nonetheless lovely way.

“With this series, I hope to educate viewers outside of the black community of its beauty and strength,” Oladimeji tells AFROPUNK. “Another aim of this project is to encourage people especially the youths of similar race and ethnicity to embrace their roots with pride because Black is Everything and More.”
