The teenage girl who was violently slammed and dragged by the hair by a cop at a McKinney pool party in 2015, won a $184,850 settlement.
It’s not nearly enough, but better than nothing. The cop, Eric Casebolt, resigned at the time but faced no charges, as usual.
The girl, Dajerria Becton, who was 15 years old at the time of the attack, had sued the city and the Police Department for $5 million. Her attorney, Tim K. Cole, says that Ms. Becton plans to use a portion of the money to start a business and hopes to become a dentist.
On Saturday, Dajerria Becton will celebrate her victory and her graduation from high school with a pool party!
