prince’s pre-fame years are the focus of this upcoming exhibition!

Opening June 7th at Family Affair in San Francisco, ‘Prince Pre-Fame’ is a wicked new exhibition by Robert Whitman that explores the Purple One’s life prior to global domination. Shot in 1977, PRINCE Pre Fame features a rare collection of Whitman’s photographs of the then 19-year-old musical prodigy in Minneapolis. An intimate look at the innocence and excitement of what the future ahead might look like. Surely an underestimation of what was to come. Some of the photos included in the exhibition are the same photos Prince used to promote his debut LP.

If you’re in the Bay Area between June 7th and July 7th, this show is a must-see.
