premiere: worlds collide in brazilian hip-hop star rincon sapiência’s energetic collab with pedro

Our second premiere today comes from Lisbon-based producer and DJ, PEDRO and Brazilian rap star Rincon Sapiência and their collaboration ‘Na Quebrada’. Bringing these two artists together with their very different sounds, the track mixes the rich rhythmic traditions of Lisbon and the African influences heard and enjoyed throughout Brazil. Rincon’s hybrid style of delivery creates bridges between rap music and baile funk. Social conscious as always, but freely explorative of hedonistic and carefree pleasures, Rincon’s lyricism is illuminating and exploratory about these contradicts in the human experience and the ways in which we think. Oscillating between what we need and what we want. A universal experience that further emphasized by this fuses of two different genres.
