Framed to be a direct conversation about the racist language President Trump used in reference to African countries and countries in South America, this editorial challenges the problematic, ignorant thinking by whites who don’t even realize how off base they are and the flat-out racist nature of people like President Trump. Here, a Senegalese model surrounds herself in head-turning Haitian art and cultural imagery: a symbolic and literal blending of cultures that prove not only is Haiti not a shithole, but it’s people are who make America great.
