“Black Panther’ has proved to be a cultural phenomenon—thanks in large part to its strong black women. So why can’t Marvel give perhaps its most popular black superheroine her due?”

Excellent question, Ira Madison III. Where TF is Storm? Marvel’s most popular, most recognizable Black superhero (part-time baddie?) is one of the most interesting and striking X-Men. Born to a Kenyan tribal princess and an American father, Storm’s origins as a bi-continental orphan and later, the one-time queen of Wakanda, Storm is hands down one of the most interesting superheroes in the MCU. And with the herculean success of Black Panther over the weekend and plans for Ta-Nehisi Coates’ Storm comic run, Marvel Studios and Disney don’t have much of an excuse for not exploring a Storm solo project (WITH A DARK SKINNED ACTRESS) as soon as mutantly possible.
