Like Wakanda, Haiti is and was a land of plenty. A vibrant and resistant culture, the Haitians were amongst some of the fiercest and most capable resisters to colonialism and slavery, defending itself from the British, Spanish, and French.

Haiti, a country of prosperity and natural resources, the French were able to exploit the nation in ways that yielded profits higher than that of all the French colonies put together. But the Haitian Revolution was something white colonizers were not and could not have prepared for. As Haiti become an example and expression of Black power, one that has scared white colonizers unlike any other to the point where the exploitation and hindrance of Haitian progress have come from so many white institutions in the modern day, like the U.S. itself and so-called non-profits The American Red Cross, and other “well-meaning” white enterprises.
