Josué Comoe is a model and painter currently based in Paris. As an artist, Comoe’s work is dedicated to people of African descent, particularly those who are most marginalized, and is a natural outgrowth of his own struggles of getting work as a model.

“I decided to reclaim my image through my painting,” Comoe explained. His latest project is the culmination of two months worth of art, highlighting Black people in intimate, and at times experimental, contexts.

I paint proud women who wear their voices in a society that listens very little,” Comoe says on his Tumblr. “I paint men who express their sadness, their anger in order to denounce, and question.”
