Journalist, writer and director Rokhaya Diallo first collaborated with photographer Brigitte Sombié on Afro!, a book prompted by Diallo’s observations of natural hair movements in New York. Now, the two have designed an exhibition of the same name to explore Afro-Parisians who wear their hair natural and unrestrained.

Following a year of meetings, interviews, and photoshoots, Afro! has evolved into a gallery of stunning portraits and powerful testimonies on self-esteem and diversity, screenings and workshops around the exhibit run through the end of the year.

Check out some images and a schedule of upcoming exhibits below!
