alabama shakes’ brittany howard announces new band bermuda triangle

July 6, 2017

Alabama Shakes frontwoman Brittany Howard just started a new band called Bermuda Triangle! Set to make their debut July 12 in Nashville, Bermuda Triangle is also comprised of folk artists Jesse Lafser and Becca Mancari.

Speaking with Ann Powers for NPR, Mancari implied that the project came together naturally and evolved from the threesomes casual jam sessions. “We just sit on each other’s porches and play music,” Mancari explained. “It’s the music that I remember that I used to play before I even came to Nashville, when people just played for fun. That’s my side of the story at least.”

Mancari went on to say that fans should expect previously unreleased tunes, “drum machines, heavy harmonies and someone on a standup bass.”
