Burna Boy


Born Damini Ogulu in Port Harcourt, Rivers, Nigeria, to parents Bosede and Samuel Ogulu, he is the only son and the eldest of three children.

Burna Boy is a Grammy award-winning Nigerian Afro-fusion singer, songwriter and performing artiste signed to Atlantic Records USA, Bad Habit and his own record label Spaceship and one of the most successful African artists on the continent.

Burna Boy is one of the few key figures in the Nigerian music industry whose musical talent is a constant reminder of the importance of African voices being heard and whose musicality evokes memories of many global music greats, past and present; something that has aided his meteoric rise to global prominence.

An indigene of Rivers State in Southern Nigeria, Burna Boy has worked with an impressive number of local and international A-list artistes including Justin Bieber, Sia, Diddy, Sauti Sol, Jorja Smith, Youssou N'Dour, Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran, Damien Marley, Stormzy, Sarkodie, to mention a few.

Burna Boy is one of the biggest International artistes in the world ( A Grammy, two time BET “Best international Act”, “Best African Artist”, MTV EMA, AFRIMA, Soundcity MVP, etc.) winner.

Some of his groundbreaking projects which include Twice as Tall, African Giant, Outside, L.I.F.E., On a Spaceship, Redemption EP, amongst others produced an array of critically acclaimed chart-topping singles such as Ye, Anybody, African Giant, On the low, Onyeka, Real Life, 23, Way too Big, Gbona and Monsters You Made.

Burna Boy has been nominated for, and won numerous awards locally and internationally, some of which includejuy the GRAMMY Award, BET, BRIT Awards, MTV Europe Music Awards, Soundcity MVP, MOBO Awards, Edison Awards, AFRIMA, All Africa Music Awards, Nigeria Entertainment Awards, The Future Awards.
