Hey, Baby’s “XX” Is Dance Punk Perfection

“I make music as a way of immortalising the queer, Black experience.”
Messy, unapologetic, and fierce in every sense of the word, with just 3 singles to their name, Hey, Baby has already made a hell of a name for themselves. The singer’s debut “Theatre!” turned heads with its jagged-edged sound, and their latest “XX” turns every knob to max, deliver a dance-punk breakup anthem that spins so fast it creates its own gravity. The industrial flair that haunts the edges blurs beneath Hey, Baby’s fuck-it-all vocals. It’s exhilarating, it’s cathartic, it’s totally unlike anything else out there.
Hey, Baby says of the new cut “‘XX’ is the soundtrack to messy, post-break up shenanigans. Giving space for the obnoxious and flirty version of yourself that comes out after a couple drinks and you wanna forget about your ex.”
