Zulu Pays Tribute To A Tribe Called Quest With New Single “Where I’m From”

For those of you who’ve never seen Tribe’s iconic “Scenario” video, I’m very excited for you to stop reading this immediately and watch that shit. The video’s been on something of a 30 year journey from groundbreaking digital art to 90’s time capsule to flat out legendary, a status which is firmly cemented by Zulu’s new clip for “Where I’m From.” Joining forces with Eric Andre, Soul Glo’s Pierce Jordan and Playytime’s Obioma Ugonna, the LA hardcore band captures the spirit of the original while turning the volume up to max. Since their first releases, Zulu have been on a mission to remake hardcore in their own image, and with “Where I’m From,” they may actually have pulled it off. It’s heavy, it’s fierce, it’s irreverent, and it’s uncompromising. It’s everything that hardcore should be in 2023.
