poptropicaslutz! And Magnolia Park Team Up On The Claustrophobic New Single “catastrophe”

Hot on the heels of their genre-smashing album Baku’s Revenge, pop punk provocateurs Magnolia Park have teamed up with rising hyper-punk duo poptropicaslutz! for the claustrophobic new single “catastrophe.” The Epitaph labelmates both approach the merging of punk rock and pop from radically different angles, making the collab a perfect cross-pollination of their sounds. Pouring through the wreckage of a disasterous relationship, the track finds poptropicaslutz! at both extremes of their sound, floating synths contrasting heavy guitars, while Mag Park’s Joshua Roberts steps in to ramp up the tension in the breakdown. Coupled with an unsettling video that puts Christian Cicilia and Nick Crawford at the end of a barrel looking for signs that the worst is over, “catastrophe” is the best kind of nightmare.
