Premiere! Mobley Showcases a Cinematic Ambition on the Epic “worstway”

August 25, 2022

Over his recent singles, Mobley has shown himself to be an artist with an impressive scope. The latest “worstway” adds some post-punk tension and drive to his sound. A pulsating guitar line hovers like a shadow beneath his emotive vocals before exploding into a massive beat and hook. It’s a song that immediately tells a story, and it’s fitting that it’s paired with a video that shares Mobley’s cinematic ambition. The self-directed short ties in with his previous singles further expanding the story of protagonist Jacob Creedmoor. It’s rare that an artist should have such a complete vision for the world they want to create. Rarer still that they should do it so impressively. Mobley’s forthcoming Cry Havoc! is definitely one to watch out for when it drops September 23.

Mobley tells us: “The ‘worstway’ music video takes place inside the mind of Jacob Creedmoor, the protagonist of the recent ‘themesong’ and ‘stay volk’ videos and the figure at the center of the story of my upcoming record Cry Havoc! The video sees time and memory collapse on themselves as Jacob tries desperately to piece together an important part of his past. ‘worstway’ is the only love song on the record and the video explores Jacob’s devotion to his partner against the backdrop of his growing suspicions that she’s hidden something from him.”
