This week serpentwithfeet announced his upcoming album, “DEACON” scheduled for the release date of March 26. Along with the announcement he dropped the lead single, “Fellowship” which is co-written and co-produced by Sampha & Lil Silva. Throughout Fellowship, serpent’s compelling voice glides over percussive beats and lithe instrumentation while Sampha and Lil Silva’s vocals join in for a lush chorus. serperntwithfeet goes on to say “I dedicate ‘Fellowship’ to anyone who has had a good friend or been a good friend.”

The video for “Fellowship” is directed by Kordae Jatafa Henry and depicts a liberated display of affection by serpent and his companion, leaving the viewer yearning for a warm embrace of a lover.

His upcoming album, DEACON, is “a study rather than a story,” delving into Black, gay love and the tenderness present in the best companionships, romantic or otherwise. Scheduled for a March 26 release, DEACON will have only three features from Sampha & Lil Silva who worked on the lead single, as well as Nao on “Heart Storm”.
