Yves Tumor is unstoppable right now. The multi-hyphenate’s latest Heaven to a Tortured Mind continues to yield some of the richest fruit 2020 has to offer. It’s the rare album that only gets deeper the more time you spend with it, with its impeccably layered production encircling the emotional songwriting and performances.

Their latest single “Strawberry Privilege” hits all the richness Tumor has become known for, beautiful, atmospheric, haunting, hopeful, expressing the uncertainty and anxiety that defines our generation. The reverb-drenched indie rock sound comes off almost like someone from the distant future trying to imagine what Yo La Tengo might have sounded like based on a written description; all warmth and mystery. Fittingly, the new lyric video directed by Jordan Hemingway and Collin Fletcher is glitchy, beautiful, and simultaneously nostalgic and futuristic. Existential exhaustion has never sounded so good.
