Set in New York City during the 1970s, Jordan Peele’s new original series Hunters follows a diverse group of Nazi hunters, including Al Pacino and Logan Lerman. While attending his grandmother’s funeral, Jonah Heidelbaumn (played by Lerman) meets Meyer Offerman (Pacino) who claims he knew Jonah’s now deceased grandma during their imprisonment in “the camps.” And Meyer has the identification tattoo to prove it.
“She lived through all of that just to be shot in the living room by a burglar.”
As it turns out, Jonah’s grandmother wasn’t just a victim of anti-Semitism, but a warrior who co-founded a Nazi-hunting group. Stacked with skilled hunters, the team thrives with the help of a spy, soldier, lock-picker, master of disguise, and two weapons experts ready to kill Nazis.
Jerrika Hinton, Carol Kane, Josh Radnor, Kate Mulvany, Tiffany Boone, Greg Austin, Louis Ozawa Changchien, Saul Rubinek, Lena Olin, and Dylan Baker star alongside Pacino and Lerman.
The series is produced by Amazon Studios, Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions and David Weil’s Sonar Entertainment, who serves as executive producer and co-showrunner with executive producer Nikki Toscano. The pilot, which is directed by Alfonso Gomez-Rejon drops February 21 on Amazon Prime.
