ninjasonik’s “greed” is hardcore rage in full effect

November 5, 2019

If you’ve been rocking with Ninjasonik as long as we have at AFROPUNK, you’ve seen the act in all of its different incarnations — from tight-pants wearing party bros, to art-school-girl loverboys, to Star Wars-level spitters with a wry sense of humor only matched by their garish sense of style. After over a decade in the music game, Telli Gramz and Ben Robey (aka JahJah) are back with new music tapping into the punk energy appropriate for these crazy times.

Ninjasonik’s new song, “GREED,” is classic NYC hardcore: loud and fast and straight to the point. This time the boys are tackling a more serious and timely topic in class struggle. “Rob the rich (GREED!)/ Feed the poor! (GREED!)/ Burn it down! (GREED!)/Kill ’em all! (GREED!)” is the song’s refrain and a manic montage of clips from classic and cult films like “Home Alone,” “Belly,” “Trading Places,” “American Ninja,” “Rambo,” “Showgirls” and countless others are inter-cut with performance footage match the frenetic mood of the song courtesy of director Drew Milo.

Welcome back boys, we look forward to hearing what else you’ve got to say.
