koffee celebrates her wins with gunna on “w”

Revisiting the joyful tone of her gratitude anthem “Toast,” 19-year-old reggae sensation Koffee is back with the ebullient “W” featuring YSL’s Gunna. The video for “W” takes Koffee to a church in Jamaica where a pastor delivers an impassioned sermon about appreciating the lessons that life teaches us through our struggles as news reports of an approaching storm come in.

Churches are familiar surroundings for Koffee, who was a choir girl in her hometown of Spanish Town.  The metaphor of the storms that build us rather break us is made literal when the fearsome dark clouds start raining money — a silver lining if there ever was one. Fuck a pilgrim, “W” is a reminder that we all have a lot to be thankful for as we move into the Thanksgiving holiday in the U.S.
