If you thought that Lil Nas X’s 15 minutes were almost up then you were sadly mistaken. Sunday, at the close of Pride Month and the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising, he apparently came out as queer and was warmly received by fans and followers online.

Now, after setting a new record for a hip-hop song on the Billboard Hot 100 with “Old Town Road” — now in its 13th consecutive week at No. 1 on the chart — his run has extended to the album, rap, and rock genre single charts.

His recently released, genre-defying EP 7 has proven that he’s no one-trick pony debuting at No. 1 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums and Top Rap Albums charts. He also made his debut on the Hot Rock Songs with “F9mily (You & Me)” and “Bring U Down” (featuring Ryan Tedder), debuting at Nos. 6 and 7. His hip-hop leaning songs “Panini” and “Rodeo” made their debut on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs at Nos. 9 and 12, and Nos. 7 and 10. Hot Rap Songs, where “Old Town Road” remains at 1.

The guy who was once deemed “not country enough” is now the hottest thing out.
