aliyah royale cast in new ‘the walking dead’ spin-off

AMC’s “The Walking Dead” might be coming to a close, but its second, as-yet-unnamed spin-off is alive and well. And it’s all coming together now with actress Aliyah Royale (The Red Line) signed on in one of the show’s lead roles. Co-created by “The Walking Dead” writer/producer Matt Negrete and showrunner Scott Gimple, the new series will follow the first generation of young people to reach adulthood during the zombie apocalypse. According to AMC’s description, “Some will become heroes. Some will become villains. In the end, all of them will be changed forever.”

“We’re thrilled that the Dead will keep walking into a new corner of the post-apocalyptic world, a corner that will present stories and characters unlike any that ‘The Walking Dead’ has dramatized thus far, and that is bound to excite one of the most passionate fanbases in television,” said David Madden, president of programming for AMC Networks and AMC Studios.
