raphael saadiq returns with new single, album

Welcome back, Raphael Saadiq! It’s not like we haven’t kept up with what you’ve been doing the last few years — your work on Solange and Miguel and Trombone Shorty’s records has been instrumental in pushing culture forward, your music for Netflix’s Luke Cage and on the Oscar-nominated Mudbound were masterful vibes, and, hey, your performances at AFROPUNK have showed off all of your stage skills. But, yeah, the drop of this new soulful rock track, “Something Keeps Calling,” that announces  your first new album since 2011’s Stone Rollin’ is a comeback of sorts, back to the front of the pack.

The album is called Jimmy Lee due on August 23rd and also features contributions from Brook D’Leau, Kendrick Lamar, and Ali Shaheed Muhammad. We’re very much looking forward to it.
