And they say Black box office doesn’t bring in the dough.

Correcting yet another stigma surrounding Black entertainment, Jordan Peele’s Us broke records this weekend as the largest opening for an original horror film. Starring Academy Award-winner Lupita Nyong’o, Duke Winston, Tim Heidecker, and Elisabeth Moss. Us has already brought in $70.2 million in box office dollars. Making it the second largest weekend opening for a live-action film after Avatar. The killer flick has also managed to maintain a 94 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Meaning that shit was really great. Not only that, but fans are praising the film’s score, done by Michael Abels as well. (Shout out to the “I Got 5 On it” remix, okkuurrrrr!).

Congratulations to the whole Us team and special thanks to Jordan Peele for blessing us with anotha one.
