When Gary Clark Jr. comes through, he really delivers — and his latest single “I Walk Alone” is no exception.

A blues-soaked, pulsating rock anthem, “I Walk Alone” is something darker than we’re used to getting from Clark Jr. Laced with rebellion, the shadowy track shows off the artist’s impressive vocal range as he belts out messages of isolation, depression and loneliness: “I move in darkness ’cause the darkness always soothes me/It’s natural, but I don’t wanna be alone.”

A cut from his highly-anticipated album THIS LAND, out February 22, it’s a broody follow-up to his first single, also the title track. Clark Jr. shared a second joint “Feed the Babies” on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

Later this month, Clark Jr. is scheduled to make his SNL debut alongside host Don Cheadle. Tune in for that on February 16th!
