Nope, AFROPUNK’s in-house love affair with Leikeli47 still hasn’t found a limit.

Hot on the heels of her great end-of-2018 album, Acrylic, comes the shiny Edgar Esteves-directed video for “Tic Boom,” which premiered on this week’s episode of Grown-ish. It’s part survey of objects that just might explode any moment — a fair description of Leikely’s flow — and part dance-off between two groups of all-female dance troupes.

Leikeli47 describes it as thus: “These young women are in a face-off with their inner fears; that’s why it sometimes may look like they’re engaging in a face-off with themselves. It’s about facing whatever your Goliath is and chopping its head off. That’s what ‘Tic Boom’ is about. It’s about owning your moment, mastery, and doing it afraid if you have to.”

Our favorite current Brooklyn rapper is headed on an American tour in March and April, and we’re already all over the office Slack organizing a team outing.
