Transforming Twitter fingers to activism, Feminista Jones has been unpacking, debunking, and advocating for a long while now. Seriously, if you’re not following her, who tf are you following? Even if you’re just catching up now, later this month Feminista is coming out with another book, “Reclaiming Our Space: How Black Feminists Are Changing the World from the Tweets to the Streets”. Written from her perspective as a social worker and Black feminist, “Reclaiming Our Space” reveals how inspiring movements like #BlackLivesMatter, #SayHerName, and #BlackGirlMagic were led and started by a diverse group of Black and queer, Black feminist who utilized social media to achieve profound social change. Exchanging readers in a complex exploration of the intersections of class, race, gender, orientation, access, and media, “Reclaiming Our Space” is a deep dive into the intersectional struggles and triumphs thus far into the 21st century.
