cupcakke confirmed safe after suicidal tweet
Chicago MC CupcakKe sparked a much-needed conversation about suicide, self-care, and mental health yesterday when she told fans in part, “I’m about to commit suicide” on Twitter.
Causing enough alarm to warrant hospitalization, the rising hip hop star was later confirmed to be safe and receiving care, thank goodness. Since then, the “Deepthroat” rapper has reached out to fans through social media, opening up about her struggles with mental illness and getting help going forward:
I’ve been fighting with depression for the longest ..sorry that I did it public last night but I’m ok .I went to the hospital & im finally getting the help that I need to get through , be happy , & deliver great music . thanks for all the prayers but please don’t worry bout me
