Australia’s metal band, Southeast Desert Metal, unleashes the fury of silenced ancestors through their music. In the face of the beneficiaries of colonialism insisting we forget the past, the title track to their new record, “Break the Silence” urges the children of lost generations to “feel the suffering and pain.” It’s a powerful throwback-thrash track that refuses to forgive or forget.
