pharrell un-happy with 45: cease and desist

Walking dumpster-fire Donald Trump played “Happy” by Pharrell Williams at a rally just hours after a shooter gunned down 11 innocent people in a Pittsburgh synagogue. Williams was having NONE of that and sent his lawyer to tell Trump and his soulless minions to cease and desist the foolishness!

Williams’ attorney Howard King wrote a letter to the Trump camp stating, “On the day of the mass murder of 11 human beings at the hands of a deranged ‘nationalist,’ you played his song ‘Happy’ to a crowd at a political event in Indiana,” reports CNN. “There was nothing ‘happy’ about the tragedy inflicted upon our country on Saturday and no permission was granted for your use of this song for this purpose.”

Williams isn’t the only artist to tell the Dictator-In-Chief to keep my music out yo mouth. The Rolling Stones, The O’Jays, Adele, Aerosmith, Queen, Twisted Sister  and other artists have sent cease and desist letters to Trump’s camp, who use the music to warm up the crowds at his bigotry link-ups.

It’s almost redundant to point out how inhumane it is to play a song like “Happy” just hours after 11 people were lost to senseless, anti-Semitic violence. Unfortunately, this is our new normal because Trump and his ilk will never be interested in decency and equality but at least our artists are meeting that energy with their own fuck you.
