We were first introduced to Iyamah when we covered her soulful single ‘Silver Over Gold’ on AFROPUNK, and now the songstress is back to bless us with a contemplative music video to match. Directed by Dalia Dias, the video takes place in Iyamah’s hometown of Brighton, where the singer takes the viewer on her musical journey, showing us the African drummers and dancers as well as her actual friends who appear in the video.

“This song means a lot to me because it’s written about the two most important things in my life growing up. My mum and my hometown Brighton. I wanted to capture the things that have inspired me, that I’ve carried around with me since I left.”

Iyamah’s journey goes from bustling markets to the beach, building a picture of the environment responsible for the formation of the soulstress. It’s a journey home much like the ‘Silver Over Gold’ is Iyamah’s musical return to the kind of R&B and Neo-Soul that showcases her undeniable talent.
