AFROPUNK kicked off the weekend celebrating the Black Girl Genius that is Issa Rae with an intimate dinner attended by new artists performing at the Brooklyn festival. Lion Babe, Adeline, Gitoo, Fuck You Pay Us, Nakahne, Coco and Breezy, Ro James and Nova Twins came out to the Celestine Restaurant get the party started.

For the evening, Issa collaborated with RCA Records and AFROPUNK to find new artists whose music will appear on HBO’s Insecure. We love our Awkward Black Girl and are proud of her for representing us in Hollywood and giving us a voice. Like Queen Issa, we are rooting for everyone Black!
