pennsylvania mayor tells police to “bring the hoses” on black protesters, like in the good ol’ days

White folks have reaaaalllly been tripping’ since the inauguration of Donald Trump, but we continued to be stunned by the callousness of whites in power, like this Pennsylvania mayor who ordered police to “bring the hoses” on black protestors. Via Facebook, Arnold Mayor Karen Peconi called for activists protesting the killing of black teen Antwon Rose by police to be “destroyed by a water canon”. Really. After screenshots of Peconi’s inhumanity and wishes for violence against members of the community began to circulate, the Mayor issued an apology for her flippant commentary, but many are still calling for her to resign her position as Mayor of a predominately black town.

“I love this community, I would do anything for the people here. I don’t take my position as Mayor lightly and deeply regret the comments I made on Facebook. It was never my intention to offend anyone, and for those who I offended I am sincerely sorry.”
