Drawing on the photographic and film work of Chris Saunders OKZharp and Manthe Ribane’s latest visual collaboration “Closer/Apart” is a contemporary study of movement and dance, reality and imagination. A hypnotizing track on its own, “Closer/Apart”, written by OKZharp, is a glossy synth-pop anthem infused with enough dark ambiance to stand right up next to the dynamic digital visuals by Optigram.
Richly tech-noir and boar line symphonic, this cinematic world directed by Saunders with striking minimalist styling, choreography, and performance by Manthe Ribane is as unsettling as it is pleasurable.
