three black trans women killed in jacksonville, fl: community fears it’s a serial killer
Violence against transwomen of color is an all too common phenomenon. But in Jacksonville, Fl. where the third murder of a transwoman just this year has taken place, residents are concerned about the possibility of a serial killer. On Sunday 24-year-old Cathalina Christina James was fatally shot in Jacksonville and pronounced dead at a hotel where she was presumably killed at. A week earlier Antonia English, 38, known as Antash’a to friends, was also shot dead. Back in February Celine Walker, 36, was also fatally shot in a Jacksonville hotel room.
My Cathalina, Celine, and Antash’a rest in peace.
LGBTQ Advocate Paige Mahogany Parks is calling on any and everyone in the community, who’s fed up with the violence, to come down to the courthouse on Wednesday evening for a “Call for Justice”. Check out the flyer below. @ActionNewsJax pic.twitter.com/jwBnR2iVYa
