video premiere: let your mischievousness out with electro-pop duo garçons’ playful new visual
Not evvvverything has to be serious all the time, which is the perfect attitude for Garçons’s playful new video, “Little Things”. An extremely delightful visual with a high-energy mischievous feel, the opening finds singer Deelo running amok in a bougie hotel (which they had to film quickly on the DL lol). Set to a funk-infused pop melody and crooning vocals, hijinks ensue when we see Deelo being chased around the hotel, Grand Budapest style.
“This is a song about how the love/hate relationship with the little things in life. Sometimes they make your day, other times they drive you crazy, Deelo tells AFROPUNK. “Take milk for example. So you got some home-made chocolate chip cookies. Add a little thing like milk and boom…greatest combo of all time. But imagine another situation where you forgot to replace the milk in the fridge. Little did you know your girl was really craving some Fruit Loops. She gets home and there’s no milk in the fridge. Now it’s the end of the world and you’re having a fight over milk.”
“It was definitely the song we had the most fun recording, but filming this video was a whole different story. We’re not gonna say exactly where we filmed it because we might get in some trouble. But somehow we managed to film it quickly before getting kicked out of every single location. The narrative is Deelo being chased around this Grand Budapest style hotel (shout out to Wes Anderson) by the concierge (Julian) who has Deelo’s girl on the line. She’s got all these little problems on her mind but he wants none of it, so he starts running away from the calls.”
