The activism of former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick won’t soon be forgotten, thanks to the help of director/showrunner/HBIC Ava DuVernay who plans to bring the athlete’s life to the small screen. Speaking with Vanity Fair about her bevy of upcoming projects, the A Wrinkle In Time director spilled the beans on plans to tell Kap’s pre-fame story in a TV comedy that centers around his high school life. “It’s Friday Night Lights meets Everybody Hates Chris,” says DuVernay. “What’s not to love?”
