“Inspire Me” is the heartening photo series by Drika Leãozinho, shot from the perspective of a young black girl looking towards the person who inspires them most. In this case, Joyce Kelly Salvador. A black single mom, Christina, and a militant black feminist who inspires her 5-year-old daughter, Agatha, with encouragement and support to develop self-esteem and self-love, as well as face the racism and discrimination she will face as a black woman in western society. With each photo it is clear that this bond between mother and daughter is a one-of-a-kind love to be celebrated and neutered in any mother/daughter dynamic.
