In case you still had doubt that the UK is a racist country, Home Secretary Amber Rudd has resigned after The Guardian revealed that she had “ambitious” ‘deportation targets’ of immigrants, which she explained in a letter to Prime Minister Theresa May.
Earlier this month, reports in The Guardian exposed how the Windrush Generation, “who arrived in the UK after the second world war from Caribbean countries at the invitation of the British government”, faced “homelessness, destitution and detention, lost their jobs or been denied NHS treatment because they were unable to prove they were British”.
People were being incorrectly identified as illegal immigrants after the Home Office destroyed thousands of landing cards recording Windrush immigrants’ arrival dates in the UK!
Amber Rudd had misled the Parliament by claiming she did not “set, see or approve any targets for removals”. Yet the letter published in The Guardian reveals that she had what she called ‘ambitious but deliverable’ removals target.
It should be noted that this whole madness is very much connected to Prime Minister Theresa May, who, when she was Home Secretary, set the tone by vowing to make the UK a “hostile environment” for ‘illegal’ immigrants.
And she knew what Amber Rudd was up to, as proven by the letter mentioned above.
So, bye Amber, bye Beckie, but Theresa May got some explaining to do.
